FIRE AT THE BEATTY BUILDING 31 MAY 2020

I am writing this from my kitchen table in Parry Sound. I heard this morning that there had been an early morning fire in the Beatty Building and came into town from my cottage. The fire was in Beverly’s gift shop across the hall from Parry Sound Books and though the fire was not in the book store the smoke and water damage is extensive - and without having the insurance adjustor in yet I believe the stock is all completely ruined. That is the bad news.

The good news is that my laptop computer is very dirty but working. I am about to wipe down and plug in my desktop point of sale system and other computers and hope that my business systems work as well. If not, I do have a complete backup and can simply install it all into a new computer.

No one was injured. No one is dead. We are all a bit shocked but that is all. We are all insured and trust that after the 30 plus years I have paid for insurance with the same company that they will cover my loss., and that we will be back in business as normal, such as it is right now, and all will be well.

I appreciate the emails and face book comments I have received. But please so not send anything more to me on facebook as I have been having issues posting and replying for 2 weeks now and dealing with that at the moment is a low priority!
