Another week is gone –somehow, regardless of the tedium of our distracted days the weeks fly by. And it is snowing. I feel like Eeyore today.

All Adults Here by Emma Straub is written with a unique alchemy of wisdom, humour, and insight that come together in a story about adult siblings, aging parents, high-school boyfriends, middle school mean girls, the lifelong affects of birth order, and all the other things that follow us into adulthood, whether we like them to or not. I loved her earlier books, funny and very fine, Modern Lovers and The Vacationers – in stock in paperback.
Katheryn Howard – The Scandalous Queen by Alison Weir is the 5th in her series about the Six Tudor Queens. This is the tragic story of Henry VIII’s fifth wife, a 19 year old beauty with a hidden past. We have all of the earlier books in this excellent series in stock in paperback.
We are all missing our usual activities during this time of staying home. Many people my age choose to travel at this time of year, before schools get out, when the old folks have Europe to themselves. I have spent a month in Newfoundland each spring for the past 5 years – along with a pile of books. The newest Alison Weir is always in my pile, as I read the books I will recommend to my customers in the coming summer. While recognizing that I am fortunate to be well, and living as I do, I miss so many of the pleasures of that old life!
Keep well – Charlotte
